Studium der Anglistik, Rhetorik und Politikwissenschaft in Tübingen und Lancaster, UK (DAAD-Stipendium); Promotion 2007 an der Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main (DFG-Graduiertenkolleg ‘Zeiterfahrung und ästhetische Wahrnehmung’). Danach Postdoktorand/Wissenschaftlicher Koordinator im DFG-Graduiertenkolleg ‚Kulturhermeneutik im Zeichen von Differenz und Transdifferenz‘ an der Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg sowie DFG-Forschungsstipendiat am Centre for Victorian Studies der University of Exeter (UK). Seit 2013 an der HHU Düsseldorf, zunächst als Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter, seit 2019 als Akademischer Rat. Habilitation 2016 in Erlangen, Umhabilitation 2017 in Düsseldorf.
