Uniting theory and practice of theatrical performance – this is the goal which the Chair of Modern English Literature in cooperation with the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus set themselves. Since the winter term 2010/2011 lecturers of Modern English Literature integrate a whole range of projects offered by the Schauspielhaus into their seminars.

“You are new at Düsseldorf University? We can help you to get an overview – at least with regard to theatre. The Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf opens its doors for all stage-struck students: theatre performances for a reduced admission fee, and free workshops which give you the opportunity of looking behind the scenes, meeting directors and actors and learning more about jobs at the theatre and production processes. And places to which you like to return after an exhausting day at university: for socializing, chilling out, laughing and watching theatre.”
